Susie® 2000 Introduced at the Royal College of Nursing Congress Another “first” in our growing family of tetherless simulators, Gaumard announced an advanced simulator in a female platform! One visitor remarked to us, “It’s about time!” Gaumard agrees!
The Susie® 2000 is an ideal choice for both pre-hospital and nursing care. Originally introduced way back in 1971, the original Susie 2000 remains in use worldwide in thousands of centers for healthcare education. The Susie 2000 makes use of our proven HAL® technology and includes a wireless tablet PC with bidirectional communications. This new Susie sets the standard for both quality and value. Surgical NOELLE™ shines at ACOG Gaumard introduced a surgical simulator at The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) meeting in Chicago this month. Available either as a full body simulator or a task trainer, Surgical NOELLE is the result of a collaborative program with Marty Olsen MD and Bill Hemphill at ETSU.
We recognize it’s tough to practice surgical procedures. Rather expensive virtual trainers have been used. Now, with the introduction of Surgical NOELLE, caregivers can practice using disposable uterine assemblies. Every move is recorded via twin cameras located inside NOELLE, a head mounted camera to record the surgeon’s movements and, an overhead camera to capture actions of the surgical team. Volunteer caregivers at the ACOG meeting performed surgical procedures on NOELLE and she never once complained!
Disposable uterine assemblies can be replaced in minutes and are incredibly lifelike depicting a number of GYN dilemmas. Each uterine assembly is fitted with four arteries and four veins that can bleed when attached to our physiologic system available for Surgical NOELLE.
Dr. Olsen remarked….”this simulator realistically portrays gynecologic surgical pathology. Unlike virtual trainers, this new platform will allow the learners to operate using real surgical instruments in a real patient care environment”.
Surgical NOELLE is supplied with the “Workbook of OB/GYN Simulation” written by Drs. Olsen and Eason featuring 12 basic and 46 advanced scenarios. Each scenario includes objectives, an overview, the patient’s history, available lab results, simulation parameters, expected actions of participants, personnel and props needed, reference literature, competencies addressed and debriefing goals.
Perform procedures such as dilation and curettage, conization of the cervix, chromopertubation, bladder repair, abdominal or vaginal hysterectomy, removal of a ruptured ectopic or ovarian dermoid, unilateral oopherectomy, or removal of embedded cysts in a large uterus.
Gaumard a major sponsor of the International Pediatric Simulation Symposium
Since Gaumard is so dedicated to help reduce infant mortality and morbidity, we were delighted to bring our advanced family of “wee-ones” to Italy. On hand for the Symposium were the Pedi HAL 5 year and 1 year simulators, the Newborn HAL and the Premie HAL. These four simulators are tetherless and each has a built in compressor, a communications module, and rechargeable power supply so they can be treated like “real people”.
Attendees were amazed to see the functionality and how they respond even while being moved about the Symposium. Each are supplied with a wireless tablet PC that communicates with the simulator between the floors and walls of conventional buildings. Your simulation center deserves the very best!
