[White Paper] A Primer in Simulation For Nursing Education: Key Elements and Best Practices

Free White Paper

Preparing future nurses to provide quality patient care in today’s complex care environment requires nurse educators to develop learning experiences that promote clinical reasoning, decision-making, and teamwork skills for many clinical situations.

The use of simulation learning experiences (SLEs) in nursing education has been found to impact learning positively. The NCSBN National Simulation Study found that up to 50% of traditional clinical learning experiences can be substituted with simulation when these learning experiences are conducted under comparable conditions.

This white paper includes:

  • The state of the science of simulation in nursing education
  • Components of an evidence-based, outcomes-focused SLE
  • A resource for setting up and facilitating SLEs
