Software Engineer

Gaumard Scientific Company, a world leader in health care simulation products, is looking for a Software Engineer to join the growing team in Miami. Gaumard has manufactured and marketed simulators for health care education for more than 60 years.
  • Duties Include:
  • Develop, prototype and build next generation medical simulation software and hardware programs
  • Work closely with the team to develop and design products
  • Participate in group brainstorming sessions to create novel software applications
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics, Gaming, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience with C/C++/C#/Objective C or Java
  • Intermediate-level expertise and experience working in Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max
  • Intermediate-level expertise and experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Programming and/or scripting experience
  • Experience with the latest mixed reality hardware (HoloLens, Leap Motion, Vive/Rift/PSVR/Daydream) a plus
  • Amazing attention to detail, self-motivated and collaborative
  • Passion for creating new, innovative, and ground-breaking user experiences
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strongly Desired:
  • User interface and rapid prototyping experience
  • Understanding of computer vision algorithms, spatial mapping, shaders

Mechanical Engineer- Mold Designer

Gaumard Scientific Company, a world leader in health care simulation products, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer- Mold Designer to join our team in Miami. Gaumard has manufactured and marketed simulators for health care education for more than 60 years.

The Mold Designer will be responsible for the maintenance, design and tooling of Gaumard’s molds. They will also be responsible for inventory and documentation of all molds
  • Responsibilities
  • Working with R&D engineering and production to ensure molds are ready for production
  • Developing a project specification with colleagues, including those from other engineering and manufacturing disciplines
  • Carry out mold design for manufacturing and documentation.
  • Construct complete mold designs from 3D CAD data
  • Ensure molds are designed according to company standards
  • Responsible for upgrade and maintenance of current molds in production
  • Documentation of design of current and new molds
  • Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers
  • Making sure a product can be made again reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments
  • Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques
  • Generates work orders, including detailed manufacturing instructions, drawings, bills of material (BOMs), references, and inspection requirements required to adequately control production work
  • Recommending modifications following prototype test results
  • Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Required Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering environment preferred
  • Knowledge of injection, casting, and rotational molding techniques and mold design
  • Experience with low pressure injection mold design
  • Ability to complete all mold design elements and implementation
  • Able to manage a project from concept to production implementation
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Experience working with engineering design programs; Solidworks preferred
 


Mechanical Engineer

Gaumard Scientific Company, a world leader in health care simulation products, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Miami. Gaumard has manufactured and marketed simulators for health care education for more than 60 years.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for design, development, documenting, testing, and implementing components and processes to advance technologies in health care education simulators. He/she will liaise between various departments to deliver designs fit for manufacturing, while being able to troubleshoot problems that production technicians encounter.
  • Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing parts and systems to improve realism, reliability and throughput
  • Developing a project specification with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines
  • Developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs;
  • Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers
  • Ensuring product reliability and manufacturability so that product will perform consistently in specified operating environments
  • Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques
  • Planning and designing new production processes
  • Producing details of specifications and outline designs
  • Recommending modifications following prototype test results
  • Using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly CAD
  • Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints
  • Working with other professionals, within and outside engineering;
  • Required Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience in a production environment
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multi-task and team oriented
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (speaking and written) preferred

Systems Administrator

Gaumard Scientific Company, a world leader in health care simulation products, is looking for a Systems Administrator to join our team in Miami. Gaumard has manufactured and marketed simulators for health care education for more than 60 years.

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and implementing the policies and procedures to support the organization's PC support services. In addition, the Systems Administrator will be managing the deployment, maintenance, support and upgrade of desktop PCs, hardware, software, operating systems and distributed printers.
  • Responsibilities
  • Documentation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot PC equipment and software problems.
  • Install new equipment and software and remove old equipment. This may include lifting heavy equipment (PCs, printers, etc) as well as boxing the equipment and transferring to warehouse for storage.
  • Train employees on use of new hardware and software products.
  • Maintain hardware and software license inventories.
  • Assist with administration of servers and local area networks
  • Insure proper backups are performed
  • Other special projects as assigned by Management
  • Install new equipment and software and remove old equipment
  • Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or IT required
  • Minimum 2 years work related experience required
  • Proficient with PC applications (MS Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Proficient with Windows Servers
  • COMTIA and other certifications a plus.
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Self-starter with ability to perform well under pressure.
 


Manufacturing Engineer- Technician

Gaumard Scientific Company, a world leader in health care simulation products, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer- Technician to join our team in Miami. Gaumard has manufactured and marketed simulators for health care education for more than 60 years.
  • Responsibilities
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with creating, modifying, and archiving detailed work instructions.
  • Update and Maintain the Bills Of Materials (BOM)
  • Prepare BOM data in order to transfer it to SAP system
  • Assist in defining and improving process documentation
  • Observes and records employees operating equipment or performing tasks to determine time involved and performance level or proficiency.
  • Maintains process documentation, electronic record systems resulting from time study related activities.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers in product and process design and implementation
  • Required Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multi-task and team oriented
  • Ability to fully comprehend new processes quickly
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Copy Editor

Gaumard Scientific is seeking a talented and experienced Copy Editor to lead the delivery of quality content and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of how to review and edit content that meets quality and accuracy standards with the ultimate goal of providing exceptional, informative and engaging content. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated person, with an eye for detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Responsibilities
  • Edit various Gaumard Scientific content (sales materials, marketing materials, videos, and more) for grammar, punctuation, clarity, voice, style, accuracy, and spelling.
  • Read for errors in spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Check revised proofs to ensure that all corrections/changes have been made
  • Review content, fact-check information and raise flags about questionable/inconsistent information
  • Handle a high volume of work with pressing deadlines on a daily basis
  • Manage workloads and expectations with others involved in each project
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, English or related fields
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Copy Editor (required)
  • Experience in journalism, social media and/or marketing
  • Strong proofreading skills and knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Attention to detail, good organizational skills and common sense
  • Proficiency in writing, communication and research skills
  • Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style (required) and AP Style (desirable)
  • Write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; and read and interpret written information, including direction and style guides
  • Communicate effectively within a team while also working independently
  • Strong organization, time-management, prioritization, multi-tasking, independent-decision making, problem-solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views
  • Proofread quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Work well in a fast-paced, deadline-specific environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
