Technical Documentation Engineer 1

Location: Miami, FL

Users worldwide – the military, emergency medical services, major teaching hospitals and nursing schools – recognize Gaumard products for their innovation in simulation in the pre-hospital, obstetrics and gynecology, surgical and nursing care segments. In 2000, Gaumard launched the revolutionary family of NOELLE® maternal and neonatal care simulators that changed the way training is conducted. In 2004, Gaumard pioneered the use of fully tetherless technology with the introduction of the family of HAL® simulators. In 2014, the company introduced Victoria™, its most advanced, mobile maternal/fetal simulator as part of the NOELLE family.

The Technical Documentation Engineer will be responsible for documentation, Bill of Materials, schematics, manufacturing procedures, and production line support to advance technologies in health care education simulators. He/she will liaise between various departments to deliver designs fit for manufacturing, while being able to troubleshoot problems that production technicians encounter.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Documenting, including generating Bill of Materials, schematics, exploded views, manufacturing procedures
  • Supporting production lines through product and component updates
  • Documenting and implementing parts and systems to improve realism, reliability and throughput
  • Developing a project specification with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines
  • Documenting, testing and evaluating theoretical designs
  • Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers
  • Ensuring product reliability and manufacturability so that product will perform consistently in specified operating environments
  • Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques
  • Planning and documenting new production processes
  • Producing details of specifications and outline designs
  • Recommending modifications following prototype test results
  • Using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly CAD
  • Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints
  • Working with other professionals, within and outside engineering
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience in a production environment
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multi-task and team oriented
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (speaking and written) preferred
  • Experience working with engineering design programs; Solidworks and AutoCAD preferred

Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will be required to research, design, develop, verify, validate, and launch products as they move through the development cycle from concept to production. They will be responsible for the development of firmware/hardware and analog/digital mixed signals to advance technologies in health care education simulators.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, write, debug and release embedded microcontroller firmware
  • Proficient in the use of C and assembly languages
  • Experience with Microchip family microcontrollers and analog signal
  • Schematic and board layout design
  • Proficient soldering skills and use of hand tools
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment and open to new ideas
  • Knowledge of DFMA and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent project coordination and prioritization skills
  • Goal oriented with the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field of study. Master’s degree a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience working in an engineering environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have problem solving and analytical skills, and must be able to carry out duties with minimum supervision

Physiological Modeling Engineer

The Physiological Modeling Engineer will be responsible for design, development, planning and implementing computer models to support the organization's proprietary medical simulation software.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Developing proprietary software for medical simulation
  • Design functionality of physiological systems in C#
  • Be able to provide internal and external support
  • Understanding and implementation of physiological models
  • Integrate work with other engineering departments
  • Ability to work with different teams within Engineering and other departments of company
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or BME; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with physiological modeling a plus
  • Must have experience with C# and Mat Lab
  • Coursework in anatomy/physiology required

Repair Administration Representative

  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process estimates for repairs
  • Ensure that Repair Department’s documentation in CRM system is complete and accurate
  • Gain complete working knowledge of company’s services and needs of department
  • Create and update Repairs Monthly Report
  • Answer internal emails and calls
  • Other responsibilities to be assigned by the supervisor
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Some college education preferred; High School diploma required
  • Computer skills (MS Office); ERP system experience a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years Customer Service or office administration experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus
  • Must be able to lift up to 15lbs
  • Must be able to work 8:00-4:30pm EST, Monday through Friday

Technical Support Representative

Gaumard Scientific, a leading innovator in the design, development and manufacture of medical simulators for healthcare education, has an immediate opening for a full-time Technical Support Representative at our Miami, Florida headquarters. The Technical Support team is a multidisciplinary and talented group, so you must be a team player, with excellent communication skills, who works well with others. You must be able to communicate with and provide support for medical professionals both domestically and internationally. Finally, you must be able to establish and meet realistic deadlines.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Respond to email, phone calls and other requests for techinical support for a variety of medical simulation products
  • Documents, tracks and monitors issue to ensure resolution
  • Training customers via phone, webex or classroom on use of medical simulators
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors degree in BioMedical engineering, nursing or the sciences
  • Experience with workstation software and hardware installation, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Experienced with: Windows 95/98/2000/XP, MS NT server, MS SQL, MS Exchange, MS Outlook, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Any clinical experience a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Bilingual english and any other language a plus

Software Engineer

  • 2+ years of experience with C/C++/C#/Objective C or Java

  • Programming and/or scripting experience
  • Experience with the latest mixed reality hardware (HoloLens, Leap Motion, Vive/Rift/PSVR/Daydream) a plus
